2019 Volkswagen Atlas: Is it Good for Long Highway Drives?
Who doesn’t love long highway drives? Every family waits for that exciting and thrilling experience. The open roads, with coffee breaks at those most unique roadside restaurants are something that we all long for. But for such beautiful highway drives, we do need a vehicle, that will not only keep the morale boosted up but also can manage all the unevenness of the roads, thatwill come unpredictably. When we searched for the best vehicle that can be the best companion for long highway drives, the search result showed the name 2019 Volkswagen Atlas by many websites including that of the Ontario Volkswagen dealership.
Most experts we consulted said that the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas has prioritized space and comfort along with its graceful performance, which is a must-have quality for a vehicle that will be hauling families on long highway drives.
Seating Capacity:
With its 2019 year release, the Volkswagen Atlas continues to make seating for seven adults and that makes it meet the first criterion of a crossover SUV with A grade marks.
Spacious Interior:
Next comes the spacious interiors that will simply make you feel honored as everyone get to enjoy their own space with comfort throughout the rides, which is again another strong selling point it achieves when people want to choose it for frequent highway drives.
Unlike many other crossover SUVs, the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas keeps only place for two at the third row and we liked that diligent decision, as it became much easier to access that row, which is almost a struggle for most other SUV crossovers. Moreover, by allotting enough head and foot-room for the adults at the third row, the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas doesn’t leave any scope to complain.
Cargo Capacity:
Even after you keep the third row sitting upright, the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas makes a massive space spared for the luggage of all 7 passengers that measures around 20.6cubic feet, and if you fold down the second and third rows, the cargo opens up as big as a living room covering 55.5 cubic feet.
Trim Packages of the 2019 Lineup:
The 2019 Volkswagen Atlas lines up with trims named as S, SE, and SEL, each of which has their distinctive personalities to be selected by people whose priorities are addressed by them with care. The powertrain packages start with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 base engine that is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission which is the only option for the transmission irrespective of the engine power capacity. The base engine is configured as front-wheel drive and that proved to be a great combination working out for making a 235 of horsepower. The other engine option offered by Volkswagen is the 3.6-liter V-6 engine with the same configurations as its base counterpart making 276 of horsepower that can take charge of all the road challenges with ease.
Those were the details that hurried us up to visit the VW dealer Ontario and book a test drive with the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas after which there was no looking back. We drove it home and got busy in making it ready for our upcoming long highway trip.
