When Chevrolet released the 2019 version of its flagship model Suburban, it got its place secured in the market of crossovers as a superlative highway hauler that is capable of lugging a minimum count of nine passengers, along with their gear. What more? The Suburban now is equipped with a 8,300-pound trailer that is quite a pleasant surprise that only an old-school truck-based SUV can provide.

What’s New for 2019

As shared to us by the Smithfield Chevrolet dealer experts, the 2019 year release, Chevrolet has brought in some refreshed changes for the Suburban lineup that introduces a sporty RST appearance package that includes a 22-inch wheels in combination with a blacked out trim, a 6.2-liter V-8 and Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Comes along in this year a Premier Plus Special Edition package, that continues with the same engine but instills in some great luxury features.

For 2019, the lineup of Chevrolet Suburban continues with the same trim levels namely, the LS, LT, and Premier. All of them offer seating for nine occupants and confirm to the configurations both as rear- or four-wheel drives.

Engine Configurations

With the 2019 Suburban, Chevrolet gives you a 5.3-liter V-8 engine as standard that can make a 355 of horsepower, but if you are still greedy for more power, better go for the optional 6.2-liter V-8 one that gratifies your driving spirit with a whopping 420 of horsepower. There is also an option to go for a smaller V-8 option that is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, whereas the larger onesare given 10 speeds to deal with.

The 2019 Chevrolet Suburban with its 5.3-liter V-8 engine models keep making 355 of horsepower and a 383 pound-feet of torque when driven as either rear- or four-wheel drive. Right amount of power gets sent to either two or four wheels through its column-shifted six-speed automatic transmission, even though a new engine with its own set of transmission are made available for this year, and this is happening for the first time for the Suburban.

The 6.2-liter V-8 enginethrough its RST Performance and Premier Plus Special Edition Packages that are introduced for the 2019 year edition makes 420 of hp and 460 pound-feet of torque, and that has added enough of oomph to the already highly potent SUV. Adding the 10-speed automatic transmission was a great decision from Chevrolet as it is now helping this energetic engine to make most use of every drop of fuel and the power it makes.

Gratifying Performance

Our test driving experience with the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban at the Chevrolet dealer near Smithfield was enough to appreciate its level of ride and handling. The crossover never needs to struggle to keep in pace with its rivals while a more nimble handling becomes gratifying in every sense, especially when you are faced with a tough cornering challenge. Thanks to the newly added 22-inch wheels and the magnetic ride suspension, that has contributed so largely in making every ride so smooth and gratifying.
